Bullock Texas State History Museum

Bullock Texas State History Museum is located in the heart of downtown Austin. The museum opened in 1885 and houses over 35,000 square feet of exhibits that teach history through interactive displays. There are many permanent exhibits including one on Texas art, parts of which were donated by famous artist Peter Hurd. It also includes a replica of Lyndon B Johnson's oval office from his time as President. One of the most popular features is a replica of Santa's Workshop which houses over 100,000 lights. The museum has an IMAX movie theater that allows visitors to watch educational movies about Texas history in high definition for free!

It showcases the history of Texas from pre-historic times like the dinosaur tracks, early native American life, and Spanish exploration to the modern-day. The museum also includes a library and gift shop.
