The Thinkery

The Thinkery is a space for children to explore and learn through play. The museum offers a variety of exhibits, from the "Inventing with Robots" exhibit that allows kids to build their robots to the "Minecraft" exhibit where visitors can create in-game buildings. In addition, Thinkery Austin has an outdoor playground and garden area where kids can run around and enjoy nature. If the educational exhibits are not enough to keep kids entertained, Thinkery also has a café where parents can enjoy coffee while their children play.

One-of-a-kind exhibits are one of the many reasons why Thinkery Austin is a great place for children. Whether you're looking to get your kids interested in science or just want an educational day out, the Thinkery has something for everyone!

A short history of the museum

The Thinkery is a museum for children that opened in 2002. The museum has five floors of interactive exhibits that teach science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to kids between the ages of 0-12 years old. The brainchild behind the idea was Laura Bush who wanted her daughter Jenna to have somewhere fun to play while she attended UT Austin. The museum is a non-profit organization and they encourage learning through play by creating a fun environment for children to explore.
